Spirit of Truth Christian Church Establishes New Home

Spirit of Truth Christian Church has recently established its new church home at 4201 Abingdon Road in the Eau Claire Community. The church serves as a congregation with a focus on evangelism and discipleship. As it is written: "Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth; for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak and he will shew you things to come" (KJV - John 16:13).

Leadership and Vision

Pastor M.R. Shiver has served as the senior pastor and visionary for the congregation since 2002. He brings a myriad of accomplishments to the community and looks forward to serving the same. Pastor Shiver also serves as the publisher for Pastors’ Journal Magazine and is founder of the United Service Corps, a volunteer center in the Midlands. He is married to Shenitha Shiver, and together, they have two boys, Marcus Jr. and Matthew.

Community Based Programs

They are excited about bringing several community based programs to the City of Columbia. On June 1, 2014, they will be launching the Pacesetter’s Leadership Institute, a leadership-mentoring program for young men. Additionally, the ministry incorporates artistic worship through praise dance. Praise dance is a sacred form of artistic expression that combines dance, music, and spirituality to convey messages of worship, gratitude, and reverence to a higher power, often performed within religious or spiritual contexts. Dancers use graceful movements to interpret and reflect the themes of religious songs, infusing their performances with emotion, faith, and devotion.

  • Morning Worship Service: Sundays at 11:00 AM
  • Corporate Prayer: Sundays at 10:00 AM
  • Leadership & Ministerial Training: 4th Sundays at 8:30 AM
  • Men’s Gathering: Wednesdays at 5:00 PM
  • Mid-week Bible Study: Wednesdays at 7:00 PM
  • Youth Chat Session: 2nd Tuesdays of the Month at 6:00 PM
