END OF DAYS - Just How Close Is Tribulation, Have You Any Idea?
This article presents a sobering yet hope-filled reflection on the spiritual urgency of the times we live in today, drawing from scripture to expose deception, awaken discernment, and call believers to readiness. It explores the prophetic timeline of end-time events, warning against false comfort and spiritual complacency, and emphasizes the Spirit's role in guiding the faithful through confusion. Through themes of judgment tempered by mercy, it encourages repentance and endurance, framing God's justice as a call to return and prepare. It invites readers to align their lives with truth before 'the closing curtain' falls.
The Urgency of the Times
Many are aware of what is prophesied to happen in the last days, but most think it’s too far off to even consider now. The problem for these is they have a ‘head in the sand’ mentality, they know it eventually will happen but they still push it away. Sadly, that’s a human trait – it won’t happen in my time but for so many, it will. The actual day of the beginning of Tribulation is unknown, just as the day Jesus returns is unknown but you may be surprised to learn that both of these days are much closer than you think.
Foundation in Scripture
The thoughts that I will present here are from the Bible only searching for the truth. Don’t trust whatever you may read elsewhere without proper examination first. Without confirmation from the Bible, which is the only legitimate source, you may be misled by what you read. I would strongly advise any who read what follows, or what you discover yourself to do your own thorough investigations as to its truth from the scriptures, as scripture always interprets scripture. I no longer and will not belong to any man-made religion, simply by my distrust in what they have become. This information is not only for the believer but also for the unbeliever, in the hope they may become a believer.
The 1599 Geneva Bible is a very good Bible, available as a free download (in modern spelling and is easy to read) and was written before King James 1st paid to have the KJV written as he wanted/demanded it in 1611 because he despised the Geneva Bible. It brought God's word to the masses relieving them from the corruption of the clergy, which was mingled with the politics of the day. A nice feature is the footnotes open up a clearer understanding rather than a reference to other verses as in other Bibles.
The Prophetic Timeline: Daniel's Seventy Weeks
The 3 main topics that I want to cover here are centred on: Daniel 9: 24 – 27, Matthew 24 and Revelation 13. Jesus even points us to Daniel in Matthew 24: 15 and Revelation so we know this book clearly tells us so much about the end times and that these three books are connected and linked together. These are not the only visions that Daniel received concerning the End Times, but are possibly the most debated.
Understanding verse 24 is key to grasping the rest: "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy." Seventy weeks [490 years] is prophetic time explained further down.
Key Objectives of the Seventy Weeks Prophecy
Based on Daniel 9:24, the following objectives are determined:
| Prophetic Objective | Description from Scripture |
|---|---|
| Transgression | To finish the transgression |
| Sin | To make an end of sins |
| Iniquity | To make reconciliation for iniquity |
| Righteousness | To bring in everlasting righteousness |
| Vision | To seal up the vision and prophecy |
| Anointing | To anoint the most Holy |
After you’ve read what I’ve written here you may want to begin reading your Bible, starting in the New Testament and understand how serious your salvation is as so many are just drifting, on a windswept ocean, towards a lost eternity when it doesn't have to be that way. I also want to talk about 1st Thessalonians 4: 16 – 18 to look at where and how that fits in.
