December: Our Month of Celebration and Spiritual Harvest
I want to welcome you to this special month of December. We have come to the final month of this year of manifestation. A month that is destined for a remarkable season of joy, and not just that, an all-round celebration. For many of us, it has been an amazing year, and now we have come to the very last month.
The Prophetic Mandate of Celebration
It is a season to look back at the Lord’s goodness and look forward with a grateful heart rejoicing in His continued faithfulness. This month of December, it shall be a December to remember. It shall be a December marked with celebrations. As begun to seek the face of the Lord about the prophetic positioning for this month, I heard the word “joyful” and I hear the word “celebration.”
In this month of December, the Lord says we set our sail for a season of great joy. You are setting your sail in the direction of which you want things to go. We must have a mindset of celebration, and we need to have the consciousness of this throughout this month knowing that God has something great in store for us.
Scriptural Foundations for Your Season
Now I have a few scriptures for us to think about this month of December that I believe would help you to set your sail for the rest of this month and even beyond:
- Philippians 4:4: Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let your joy overflow!
- Psalm 100:1-2;4: Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise.
- Psalm 30:11: You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.
- Isaiah 61:3: He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair.
Trusting the Process and the Harvest
As the calendar turns to December, a sense of expectancy fills the air. “All the years of prayer, all the years of waiting, all the years of interceding, pressing in…are coming down to a single point in time,” Alwyn Uys proclaims. He describes the formation of a funnel, its wide opening collecting the past years—2020, 2021, 2022, 2023—and channeling them into the mouth of 2025.
For those weary from years of labor without visible results, breakthroughs are on the horizon. All the seeds that you have sown in past seasons are coming into fruition. Using the metaphor of gears stuck in place for years, they are finally beginning to move. Keep on trusting in the plans of the Lord, because there is about to be a harvest.
The Lesson of Job
In a biblical parallel, Uys turns to the story of Job. Job comes to this moment of realization where he’s saying, “God, I’m sorry. You’ve been in control all along, and I submit to Your plans.” This December, believers should take a similar posture of trust and submission. You will see the fruit…you will see where God was busy behind the scenes, meticulously busy. The months ahead promise to bring clarity, revealing how God’s goodness has been woven into every trial and triumph.
