Defending Our Faith: Having the Courage to Stand Up for What is Right
Let us have the courage to do what is right, even when it is unpopular; the courage to defend our faith and to act by faith. At many times in this life we will have to choose the right when it is unpopular. That choice will be hard but it will be worth it. Have the courage to choose the right regardless of what others may think of you. Christ is with you and He will help you.
The Importance of Defending Our Faith
This study aims to help believers protect their faith, which is the most crucial tool, shield, and spiritual weapon of every follower and servant of the Lord Jesus. Doubts are the main enemies of faith, often hindering it. Just as faith is nurtured by the Word of God and a relationship with God, doubts are fueled by worldly thoughts and information. Doubts give birth to fear, worry, anxiety and even depression—which affect our physical and spiritual health.
It is of utmost urgency that the believers of the Lord Jesus cast away all seeds of doubts from their minds and hearts. We need to defend our faith. When a doubt comes, we need to cast away this doubt because Satan whispers his thoughts, ideas, and his words. If you accept those words, it will grow inside of you and bear fruits. You have to be filled to the point of overflowing with no space for doubts.
Faith Is Based on the Word of God
Faith is personal. It is based on the Word of God, not on debates, rules or other people’s opinions. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, not the opinions of others. Because of this, we must protect our ears from any words of doubt, wherever they come from. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind. By setting their minds on the Word of God, they can perceive and assess all things through God’s perspective.
- Jesus Christ Is Our Motivating Power
- Trust God And He Will Direct Your Paths
- The Lord Will Help You Learn Of Him And Put His Words Into Your Life
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Strengthening the Spiritual Life
We must be focused on the Word of God. The Word is the teacher! Satan can use the mouth of anybody, even inside of a church, but we must defend our faith. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. When we are filled with the Spirit, our minds and hearts are filled with the truths of His Word.
