God Is Able: Understanding His Power through Dreams and Prayer

Welcome to God Is Able International Prayer Ministries, where men and women have dedicated their lives to serving our Lord Jesus Christ and living according to His teachings. The brothers and sisters of GIA are on a mission to spread the Good News of Our Lord Jesus Christ, to fellowship with one another, and to pray for one another. To experience this power, we invite you to come and experience a great time with us in spirit and be reminded that God is still able.

How God Speaks Through Dreams

God speaks through dreams all the time—even to those who don’t know Him! The Lord is the Interpreter of dreams and the Author of dreams (not all dreams, but many), and He can bring back a dream so there’s more understanding. When a dream is from God, it is more than “just a dream.” A God dream is not a cluster of facts being sorted by a human mind or heart; it is the voice of God, and He’s telling you something you need to know.

Here are a few things we can learn about this divine communication:

  • If God speaks audibly in a dream, it’s usually literal, not metaphorical.
  • If God gives instructions or a warning in a dream, we need to quickly do what He says.
  • God does give warnings in dreams because He’s helping us, protecting us, and keeping our life from the pit.

Biblical Examples of God’s Extreme Power

The first dream recorded in Scripture was given to a king named Abimelech, who wasn’t a believer in the normal sense. The king takes Sarah into his harem, not knowing she is Abraham’s wife, but God comes to Abimelech in a dream and says: "Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife... Now then, return the man’s wife... so that he will pray for you, and you shall live." (Gen. 20:3, 7 ESV).

In another instance, one night long ago in Babylon, a powerful king had a dream. The Creator of the earth—a God he didn’t even know—began to speak to him about the next 400–500 years. The king saw the Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, the Greek Empire, right into the Roman Empire and the birth of the Messiah. God knows the end from the beginning, and in a dream, He might tell you what’s going to happen—not just in your life, but hundreds of years in the future.

The Role of Interpretation and Relationship

He is outside of time, so He can see any point in time and communicate that point to anyone He chooses. As Nebuchadnezzar discovered, sometimes He does this in dreams—He speaks, and He reveals, and He bends time to show something to a human who may or may not understand what’s going on. Who can tell you more about a dream: the person who had the dream—or the One who crafted the dream in the first place?

Anything is possible for you in a dream because anything is possible for the Giver of Dreams, and you’re in relationship with Him. His voice is life for us, and we study dreams because we want to hear Him more. God never changes, and He is doing the same things today that He did thousands of years ago.

A Global Community United in Faith

With members in Germany, Nigeria, Cameroon, USA, Canada, UK, and beyond, the community of GIA is a global family united in faith. We extend an open invitation to all who seek spiritual connection and support. Whether you're in need of prayer, fellowship, or simply seeking a sense of belonging, we welcome you with open arms.

As it is written in Philippians 4:6: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." We must remember that we are servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.
