The Destruction of Babylon – Revelation Chapter 18

The scriptures describe two distinct stages of judgment. While Revelation 17 is the destruction of ecclesiastical (religious) Babylon, the following chapter focuses on a different aspect. Revelation 18 is the destruction of political-economic Babylon, the capitol of the anti-Christ.

The Global Significance of Babylon

During the end times, this city reaches the height of its power. Babylon will become the financial and cultural center of the world in the last days and will be the headquarters of the antiChrist.

Divine Judgment and Prophecy

The reason for its fall is rooted in its actions. But because of continuing idolatry and the persecution of the saints, her judgment has now fully come, fulfilling the prophecies of Isaiah and Jeremiah.
