Live Class: Christian Apologetics: Refuting Atheism and Evolution

Course Description and Objectives

In Apologia’s Live Christian Apologetics: Refuting Atheism and Evolution class, students will learn how to defend their faith against disinformation in our culture. They will examine evidence supporting the central truths of Christianity, including the existence of God, the deity and resurrection of Christ, and the authority and truth of the Bible.

  • Course Credit: One High School Elective Credit.

Instructor: Larry Blythe

Larry Blythe is an accomplished educator and communicator with more than 45 years of experience in Christian education, pastoral ministry, and apologetics. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Theology from Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College and a Master of Arts in Apologetics, Theology, and Philosophy from Southern Evangelical Seminary. Larry also served as a contributing editor of the Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics.

Course Topics and Curriculum

The curriculum is divided into two semesters, each focusing on specific foundational questions:

Semester Topics of Contemplation
Semester 1 Students contemplate questions like “What is truth?” “Does God exist?” “Are miracles possible?” and “Is the New Testament true?”
Semester 2 Students contemplate questions like “Does Genesis matter?” “Is evolution a good theory?” “Is there global evidence of Creation and the flood?” and “Does the universe prove or disprove a timeless, spaceless, immaterial being?”
